One thing is to use the word “sexy” to appeal to viewers and have them click your site to fap. But it’s another thing to use the word “sexy” because you genuinely think it is so.

Even if you aren’t a Touhou fan, even if you don’t know who Sakuya is, or even if you don’t like cosplay at all, the contents inside this post may still be of related interest… I invite you to verify this for yourself.

She goes by “Lenfried.” She also cosplays other Touhou characters, as well as other characters from popular Anime. She did a shoot of Francesca Lucchini from Strike Witches, and she also did a Reimu and Sanae shoot. Right now, she’s working on another Sanae set.

So who is Izayoi Sakuya?

She’s the chief maid at the Scarlet Devil Mansion, located in Gensokyo. She serves a devil. ^_^

Izayoi Sakuya is written as: 十六夜 咲夜

Where 十六夜 (Izayoi) means “Sixteenth Night” and 咲夜 (Sakuya) means “Flowering Night.”

It is rumored that Sakuya used to be a vampire hunter, but she was defeated by Remilia, who pitied her and took her into the mansion, and gave Sakuya her name. Because of this, many fans speculate that “Sakuya” is not her real name.

Her talents are cooking, cleaning, time manipulation, and knife precision. She is skillful at throwing knives, and when she runs out, she stops time to pick them up and start over again. Pretty neat~

Because Sakuya can stop time, she is a deadly opponent, and she still manages to get more work done than all the other maids. She can also accelerate time.

Many people believe that Sakuya is a homage to Dio Brando, a vampire villain in the Manga series: “JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure,” since he also throws knives and stops time. Zun has also directly referenced Sakuya to Dio in the Touhou fighting games by giving her a similar pose and color palette in Touhou Hisoutensoku  (TH 12.3) to Dio’s. She also had a Spell Card in Embodiment of Scarlet Devil which is called “The World.”

There is also speculation that Sakuya might not even be human. She might be a Lunarian, and some fans go as far to speculate that Eirin Yagokoro and Sakuya are sisters, and that Eirin also created Sakuya’s Lunar Dial.

Spoiler: Sakuya IS human. Dammit, don’t you guys read the “キャラ設定.txt” files that Zun leaves around?

Despite being in so many games, Sakuya is all a mystery on her own.

So why didn’t Sakuya make it to Touhou 12? If you’ve played Touhou PoFV as Sakuya, in the ending, she explains how resolving situations is the duty of a shrine maiden. Therefore, even if Sakuya were to be in UFO, it wouldn’t make sense. I personally would have loved to play as Sakuya, though.

Even without her knives, Sakuya is still a dangerous opponent. She likes to use simple magic, no tricks up her sleeve or anything. Pure talent only, Sakuya is made of awesome and of badassery.

Because of the nature of her mistresses, Remilia and Flandre, sometimes Sakuya’s role can switch from being a babysitter to a maid, despite those two vampires being just over a millennium old.

=D I went this far and I haven’t talked about Sakuya’s personality yet.

She’s a refined character who is elegant and fairly serious in attitude. Of course, becuase she’s human, it is only natural for her to occasionally space out at times. However, she’s in charge of most of the affairs of the mansion.

I wonder what Zun was thinking when he thought of Sakuya. He did a really damn good job.

Did you know that when you play as Sakuya in PCB, you start with four bombs? Everyone else starts with three.

If you were to find Sakuya’s knives lying around and sell them, you’d get a handsome profit. They’re made out of silver! Now you know how Sakuya was able to defeat Yuyuko in PCB.

How old is Sakuya anyway? Zun hinted around 10-20~ish. Wouldn’t stopping time make her older, though? Many fans suggest that she’s possible hundreds of years old.

It makes sense. Who else took care of the Scarlet Devils when Sakuya wasn’t around?

If you seen some videos on Sakuya, you might have noticed that the users are trying to say a three-letter word, but fail to do so and their comment is usually concluded with the word “knifed,” “stabbed,” “killed,” etc. These comments usually receive high amounts of thumbs ups. So what’s going on?

Many people believe that Sakuya wears breast pads and resorts to drastic measures to prevent anyone from letting the secret out, even from Remilia or Flandre herself.

The reason is because in Zun’s artwork for Sakuya in Touhou 6, 7, 8, 9 and Tasogare Frontier’s artwork for the fighting games, Sakuya is depicted with varying bust sizes. Many would like to explain that it is simply due to shadowing or loose clothing that makes Sakuya look more flat-chested than usual, but the portraits for Touhou 7.5, 10.5 and 12.3 immediately throw most people off. Tasogare Frontier gives Sakuya a more developed figure, while Zun does not. I actually think that Sakuya spends all of EoSD trying to grab her chest while fighting. *Laughs

Either hate the photographer or love him/her for his/her brilliance. Not even Photoshop will let you see what’s under that skirt. Hey, I would have done the same too! Nothing like teasing your audience. I would laugh if any of you guys downloaded this pic and tried to play around with the Levels or Curves.

Well, pads or not, Lenfried is obviously not wearing any. Hers are real and spectacular.
