Maria Holic S1 + S2 Review and DLL [Edit]

It’s only a review of Season 1 so far. And uh, in an effort to make things a little more organized, I’ll talk about the show and divide it into the areas I think are most important. Links are at the bottom as usual.

Maria Holic isn’t exactly a new show, but I considered checking it out because the second season just finished airing, and because it’s a Shaft work. Recall that Shaft is behind Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei, Puella Magi Madoka Magika, Bakemonogatari/Nisemongatari, and so on. In case you haven’t noticed, I’m a huge fan of Shaft, though their work can vary tremendously each show. Maria Holic’s selling point is: A lesbian who enrolls at an all-girls Catholic school for the sole purpose of finding her love, and yet instead makes contact with a cunning, sadistic trap. It sounded like a spoiler to me at first, but Shaft does nothing to hide it. It is revealed by the end of the first episode.
